About the Position
Prime Point Investments is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Motel Manager to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of Bishop's Lodge Narrandera.
The successful applicant will be responsible for organising, controlling and coordinating the motel's accommodation and hospitality operations to ensure efficient service delivery, high standards of guest satisfaction and effective overall management of the property.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with strong leadership, operational and customer service skills to take responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the motel.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Motel Manager's duties will include:
- Directing and overseeing motel reservations, reception, guest services and housekeeping activities;
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the motel and ensuring efficient delivery of accommodation and hospitality services;
- Supervising and coordinating reception, housekeeping and other motel staff;
- Selecting, training, supervising and monitoring the performance of staff;
- Preparing staff rosters and coordinating staffing requirements according to occupancy levels and operational demands;
- Supervising security arrangements and coordinating property, garden and general maintenance requirements;
- Planning and supervising restaurant, function and other hospitality activities conducted at the premises;
- Monitoring the quality of accommodation and guest services and ensuring appropriate service standards are maintained;
- Assessing customer satisfaction and responding professionally to guest feedback, requests and complaints;
- Overseeing purchasing activities and liaising with suppliers, contractors and service providers;
- Monitoring operating costs, expenditure, revenue and other financial aspects of motel operations;
- Maintaining appropriate operational, financial, reservation and occupancy records;
- Monitoring room occupancy, reservations, cancellations and accommodation availability;
- Coordinating with housekeeping staff to ensure guest rooms are prepared and maintained to required standards;
- Ensuring motel rooms, facilities and common areas are maintained in a clean, safe and presentable condition;
- Ensuring compliance with applicable work health and safety, hygiene and other regulatory requirements;
- Implementing and maintaining motel operating procedures and customer service standards;
- Coordinating repairs and maintenance of the property, equipment and facilities;
- Providing guests with information regarding local attractions, tourism services and transportation where required;
- Working with management to improve occupancy, guest satisfaction and overall business performance; and
- Ensuring the motel operates efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards of accommodation and customer service.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- A relevant Australian qualification in Management, Hospitality Management or a closely related field;
- Previous relevant experience in motel, hotel, accommodation or hospitality management;
- Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating staff;
- Experience in accommodation reservations, reception, housekeeping and guest service operations;
- Sound knowledge of motel or accommodation business operations;
- Experience in purchasing, budgeting, cost control or financial monitoring relevant to hospitality operations;
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a busy accommodation environment; and
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays where operationally required.
Previous experience managing a regional motel or accommodation business will be highly regarded.
Salary and Employment Conditions
Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation
This is a full-time position based at Bishop's Lodge Narrandera, Narrandera NSW.
