Position: Disability Support Worker

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will support people with disability to live as independently as possible, participate in their community, and achieve their personal goals.
This role involves providing person-centred support while promoting dignity, choice, independence, and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support based on each participant’s individual needs and goals.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and community access where required.
- Support participants to attend appointments, social activities, recreational activities, and community events.
- Encourage independence and support participants to develop and maintain life skills.
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, and relevant workplace procedures.
- Provide emotional and social support and build positive professional relationships with participants.
- Assist with medication according to the participant’s support plan and organisational procedures, where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and other required documentation.
- Identify and report changes in a participant’s wellbeing, behaviour, or circumstances.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, coordinators, health professionals, and other support staff.
- Maintain participant privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and choice at all times.
- Follow workplace health and safety, safeguarding, incident reporting, and infection-control requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a relevant qualification, or willingness to obtain one.
- Life Experience / willing to give it ago .
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, where applicable.
- Working with Children Check, where required for the position.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Australian working rights.
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle, where required for the role.
- Previous experience in disability, aged care, community services, or a similar support role is desirable.
