About the role
AGnVET Graduate Agronomists will learn to provide advice on soils, plant nutrition, plant growth, insect, disease and weed management over a range of horticultural crops and systems.
You will be supported by our experienced agronomists and field services team to develop the skills to deliver tailored solutions for horticultural growers. leveraging the latest in agricultural technology including a diverse range of crop protection products, fertiliser and plant nutrition services. You will work closely with customers to provide advanced agronomic advice that supports sustainable production, crop quality and profitability.
Your key learning objectives will be to:
- Developing the ability to provide advanced agronomic advice and solutions to customers through hands-on experience.
- Learning the art of providing input into Agronomy strategies and planning by assisting Branch Managers and Agronomists via diverse exposure to a range of projects, products and emerging trends.
- Understanding how to support key customer management by assisting in the development of business plans for new customers with support and mentorships from experienced agronomists.
- Growing your communication skills through interactions with key suppliers and support demonstration sites with opportunities for networking and collaboration.
About you
You must be a recent graduate (in the last 12 months) or about to graduate with tertiary qualifications to be eligible for this position.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Keen interest in agricultural production and technology.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to support connections between farmers, suppliers and the wide AGnVET team.
- Adaptable to change to support continuous learnings in the ever-evolving agronomy practices.
- Demonstrated participation and leadership through extra-curricular activities will also give you an advantage.
