Hospital-level nursing. Without the hospital roster.
FT/Casual various roles available
Join Australian Unity Hospital in the Home (HiTH) and use your acute nursing skills to care for patients who would otherwise require hospital admission — with clinical autonomy, a strong team culture and consistent daytime hours.
0800–1600 | No night shift | Acute & complex care | Clinical autonomy | Supportive team
This is hospital care, delivered differently
Australian Unity HiTH provides hospital-level care to patients in their own homes, supporting people who would otherwise require admission or an extended hospital stay.
This is not traditional community nursing.
You'll care for patients with acute and complex needs, using your clinical assessment, reasoning and decision-making skills every day.
Your role will include:
- Acute clinical assessment and monitoring
- Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration
- IV therapies, including IV antibiotics
- Complex wound and post-operative care
- Management of surgical drains and other acute interventions
- Working closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams
Autonomy, with the right support
We’re looking for experienced RNs who are confident making clinical decisions and working independently, while valuing the support of an experienced clinical team.
You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your patients, use your professional judgement and contribute to an evolving model of out-of-hospital care.
We value experience, clinical curiosity, collaboration and professional respect.
A better way to work
Continue doing the acute nursing you enjoy, without the traditional hospital roster. Work 0800–1600 day shifts and no night duty . HiTH offers a more sustainable way to use your clinical expertise while maintaining the complexity and professional satisfaction of acute nursing.
What you'll bring
- Unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated recent experience working in acute med/surg, emergency or critical care areas
- Experience with PICC lines, surgical drains, complex wound management including NPWT
- Strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills
- Confidence working autonomously
- Ability to recognise deterioration and respond appropriately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safe, evidence-based clinical practice
Previous HiTH experience is not essential. We value strong acute nursing foundations and the ability to adapt your clinical expertise to an innovative model of care.
Ready for a different kind of acute nursing?
If you enjoy clinical complexity, autonomy and making a real difference , but want a more sustainable way to work, we'd love to hear from you.
Keep your acute skills. Keep the clinical challenge. Change the way you work.
