Lola’s Pergola is a colourful waterfront venue in Darwin where good food, cold drinks and a lively atmosphere all come together.
We are looking for an experienced Bar Attendant (Supervisor) to join our team full-time and help keep the good times running smoothly.
This is not a stand-in-one-spot kind of role. You’ll be behind the bar, supporting the team, chatting with customers, helping keep service flowing and making sure the venue is ready to roll from open through to close.
You’ll work closely with our Venue Manager and owners and be a trusted part of the day-to-day running of Lola’s.
What You’ll Be Getting Up To
Your days will be varied, but you can expect to:
- Help lead the bar team and keep everyone moving during busy service
- Show new staff the ropes and support the team with ongoing training
- Assist with organising shifts and making sure the right people are in the right places
- Keep customers happy with friendly, efficient and professional service
- Shake cocktails, pour beers and serve wine, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks
- Use our POS system and handle customer payments confidently
- Help with end-of-shift cash-ups and transaction checks
- Keep an eye on stock levels and make sure the bar never gets caught short
- Assist with regular stocktakes and stock organisation
- Keep fridges, shelves and service stations fully stocked and ready for action
- Change kegs and connect beverage lines when required
- Keep the bar clean, safe and looking sharp throughout service
- Make sure glassware is clean, organised and ready to go
- Help with bookings, seating and general guest enquiries when needed
- Talk customers through specials, events and what’s happening around the venue
- Jump onto the floor or assist with general hospitality duties when the team needs an extra set of hands
- Flag any staffing, service or operational issues with the Venue Manager or owners
Who We’re Looking For
We are after someone who knows their way around a busy bar and can bring good energy while still keeping things organised.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous bar and hospitality experience
- Experience supervising, training or supporting other staff
- A confident and friendly approach with customers
- Experience handling cash and using hospitality POS systems
- A good understanding of bar stock, stocktakes and general bar operations
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- The ability to stay calm and keep things moving when the venue gets busy
- A genuine team-first attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- A current NT RSA, or the ability to obtain one
