About the Role
Due to continued growth, Contract Resources (CR) is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager with expertise in Fabric Maintenance & Coatings to join our WA team on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management and successful delivery of fabric maintenance and coatings projects across offshore and onshore operations. You will work closely with Senior Leaders, Clients, Site Supervision, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in line with quality and commercial expectations.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong project management capability, technical knowledge of coatings and surface preparation, and the ability to manage multiple project priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to Tier 1 & Tier 2 Energy Clients, complex project delivery, and long-term career development opportunities within Contract Resources.
Duties will include but not be limited to
- Lead the planning and delivery of fabric maintenance and coatings projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, forecasts, and delivery milestones
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project objectives
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and consumables to meet project requirements
- Oversee mobilisation and demobilisation activities, including workpacks, permits, and readiness requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery
- Manage project cost control, forecasting, procurement, variations, and commercial reporting
- Ensure QA/QC requirements, inspection records, and project closeout documentation are completed to required standards
- Provide leadership and direction to site teams, supervisors, and project support personnel
- Drive safe execution of works in line with company, client, and regulatory requirements
- Promote a strong safety-first culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements & Experience Needed
- 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager or similar project leadership role within Industrial Services, Oil & Gas, or related industries
- Exposure to Fabric Maintenance, Protective Coatings, Blasting, or Corrosion Control projects
- Trade Qualification in Painting & Decorating, Industrial Coatings, or related discipline (advantageous)
- Practical knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation methods, and coating application processes
- Understanding of QA/QC requirements, including DFT, WFT, surface profile, environmental testing, and coating records
- Exposure to project scheduling tools such as JDE, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar systems
- Experience coordinating labour, subcontractors, equipment, and materials in a project environment
- Ability to read and interpret coating specifications, product data sheets, ITPs, and project documentation
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and operational teams
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Sound understanding of WHS requirements, hazardous materials handling, and permit-to-work environments
- High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and reporting systems
- Current Manual Driver’s Licence (essential)
- Construction White Card (essential)
- Offshore Training or Certificates (desirable, not essential)
