About the role
The Health and Safety Support Officer provides effective and efficient administrative support to Metro North Health's Health and Safety Services team. The role supports the day-to-day delivery of workplace health and safety functions while providing information, coordination and administrative assistance to a broad range of business areas across Metro North Health.
The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient operation of Health and Safety Services through the provision of administrative support, records management, committee coordination and customer service. The role also supports workplace health and safety, workplace rehabilitation, occupational violence prevention and compliance activities, helping to foster a contemporary health and safety culture across the organisation.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide high-quality administrative support for Health and Safety Services, including document management, records administration, correspondence and inbox management.
Respond to general workplace health and safety enquiries and escalate complex matters to appropriate subject matter experts and leadership team members.
Support health and safety committees and working groups through meeting coordination, agenda preparation, minute taking and action management.
Assist with health and safety training activities, incident investigations, workplace rehabilitation processes and the collection of supporting documentation.
Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Health and Safety Services, Human Resources and the broader People and Culture portfolio to support organisational objectives.
