This is an opportunity to become our first dedicated Software Engineer and play a key role in shaping the future of our business.
About the Role
As our Software Engineer, you will work directly with our founders and leadership team to design and build the internal technology that powers Connecting Plots.
You will combine cloud engineering, software development and modern AI technologies to automate production workflows, improve operational efficiency and create innovative products for both our team and our clients.
This is not a traditional software development role.
You will have the opportunity to build products from the ground up, influence technical decisions and help establish our engineering capability as we grow.
What You'll Be Building
You will help create a technology-driven operating system for our agency, including:
Production Tools
- Workflow automation tools
- Quality assurance and asset management tools
- Knowledge base and collaboration tools
Creative Tools
- Content generation workflows
- Brand knowledge systems
- Creative ideation tools
Business Operations
- Resource planning and financial dashboards
- Client profitability reporting and production forecasting
- Workflow analytics and internal reporting automation
AI Production Tools (Future Direction)
- Collaborate with the team on the integration and deployment of AI tools (such as AI Brief Assistant, AI Producer, etc.)
- Explore opportunities to apply AI technologies in practical business scenarios
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable software platforms
- Build internal applications that automate agency workflows
- Develop APIs and backend services
- Build secure, reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure
- Evaluate emerging technologies (including AI tools) and identify opportunities for practical application
- Collaborate with creative, production, finance and client service teams to understand operational challenges
- Translate business problems into elegant technical solutions
- Help establish engineering standards and best practices
- Contribute to the long-term technology roadmap for the business

- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Experience with workflow automation
- Experience integrating multiple APIs
- Experience working in product teams
- Interest in creative industries or marketing technology
Agency experience is not required.

Pay: $120,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Beaconsfield NSW
