About the role
Mater Private Hospital Redland is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Ward team on a Permanent Part-Time basis (24–32 hours per week).
In this role, you'll provide high-quality care to a diverse patient cohort across medical and surgical specialties, including orthopaedics, urology, and general surgery. As part of our collaborative nursing team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Mater Private Hospital Redland is a growing 60-bed facility offering a wide range of services including orthopaedics, rehabilitation, acute medicine, palliative care, urology, gynaecology, and general and breast surgery. The hospital features two operating theatres, an endoscopy suite, and a busy Day Procedure Unit, delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Working within the PCU2 Ward, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based care and positive patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients
- Applying best-practice principles to support quality patient outcomes
- Contributing to quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
- Supporting a positive team culture through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and clinical leadership
- Maintaining and enhancing your clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development
- Demonstrating sound clinical judgement and expertise in the care of surgical patients
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- At least 12 months' experience in an acute hospital setting
- Experience in surgical and/or medical nursing (highly regarded)
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and professional growth
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
