In this role, you will lead a diverse technology services portfolio spanning digital infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, records and information management, IT support and service delivery. With a strong focus on customer experience, you’ll ensure our technology services are secure, resilient, reliable and sustainable, while driving accountability for service performance, operational risk, supplier outcomes and technology lifecycle management.
Partnering with senior business and technology leaders, you’ll shape the City’s technology direction and turn strategic priorities into action. You’ll influence investment decisions, develop service roadmaps and drive the modernisation of technology services through cloud adoption, platform optimisation, automation and contemporary ways of working.
Work type: Permanent, full time
Classification: SPL $ 177,546 pa plus superannuation
TRP: $198,852 per annum, including superannuation
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership, setting a clear vision, direction and priorities aligned to the City's objectives.
- Lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, continuous improvement and customer-focused service delivery.
- Develop and execute technology services, platform and infrastructure strategies that modernise enterprise capabilities, improve resilience and support the City's strategic objectives.
- Champion organisational and technology change, embedding modern delivery practices and contemporary product, platform and service ownership models.
- Work across the organisation to identify, prioritise and deliver technology-enabled opportunities that improve performance, customer experience and community outcomes
- Lead workforce, financial and service performance, ensuring resources and investment are directed towards delivering maximum value and outcomes.
- Drive continual improvement through lifecycle planning, automation, technical debt reduction and optimisation of technology investments and services.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with business leaders, technology partners, vendors and industry stakeholders to drive collaboration, alignment and outcomes.
- Lead strategic vendor, supplier and partner relationships, ensuring service quality, innovation, value for money and accountability.
- Provide trusted technology leadership and advice to the Directorate, Executive Leadership Team and organisational leaders on technology strategy, cyber security, risk, resilience and investment decisions.
- Lead enterprise change, release and deployment governance to ensure technology change is delivered safely and efficiently.
- Establish and oversee service performance and supplier governance forums that drive continuous improvement and value realisation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline, and significant professional experience in in a comparable organisation or role.
Essential Experience:
- Proven leadership experience managing enterprise technology services, including digital infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, information management, service operations and customer support functions.
- Strong capability in planning, budgeting, resources and performance management.
- Proven experience modernising technology services, digital platforms, cloud services and applications.
- Strong knowledge of service management, modern technology operating models and product, platform and service ownership.
- Proven experience managing strategic vendors, partners and contracts, including commercial, service and performance accountability.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to apply commercial savviness to decision making.
- Strong understanding of technology governance, risk management, cyber security, business continuity, information governance and regulatory compliance
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children's Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
