About Us
At Polite Playground, we create engaging and interactive retail experiences. We are launching an exciting custom merchandise activation for the upcoming holiday season in a premium retail space in the Sydney CBD. We are looking for reliable, mature, and detail-oriented seasonal staff to join us from September through December to bring this experience to life for our customers.
The Role
As our Customer Experience & Custom Print Specialist, you will be the face of Polite Playground during our busiest time of the year. You will guide customers through the exciting process of designing their own merchandise, while also working hands-on behind the scenes to manufacture their creations on the spot.
This is a dynamic role that requires a balance of outgoing customer service and careful, process-driven technical work. You do not need to be a master printer, but you must be technically capable, highly reliable, and able to follow exact operating instructions safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage with the public, welcoming them to the Polite Playground activation.
- Assist and guide customers as they upload their personal photos to our custom digital portal.
- Navigate our staff portal via laptops to manage, track, and fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Print high-quality graphics using A3 poster stock.
- Operate sublimation printers and commercial heat presses to create custom merchandise (full training provided).
- Process customer payments accurately using a retail POS machine.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, particularly around the heat press equipment.
Who We Are Looking For
- Seasonal Availability: You must have strong availability from September through the end of December.
- Mature & Reliable: We need team members who show up on time, take ownership of their workspace, and represent the brand with professionalism during a busy retail period.
- Detail-Oriented: Operating heat presses and sublimation printers requires strict adherence to safety and operational instructions. You must be someone who follows steps carefully and doesn't cut corners.
- Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using laptops, navigating web portals, and learning how to use new hardware (printers, POS systems).
- Customer-Focused: You have excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Experience: Previous experience in retail, brand activations, or custom printing/apparel is highly regarded, though full training on our specific equipment will be provided to the right candidate.
