Position Summary
Join a leading Christian College in Brisbane’s south-east and contribute to our vibrant and growing performing arts program. Citipointe Christian College is seeking a passionate and skilled Dance Instructor to support and develop our primary dance program as part of the expanding Citipointe Academy of Performing Arts.
This casual position offers the opportunity to inspire young dancers in a creative, faith-based learning environment while contributing to the College’s commitment to excellence in performing arts education. The successful applicant will work with students across Prep to Year 6, fostering technical development, confidence, creativity and a love for dance.
Role responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons for students from Prep to Year 6

Teach a range of age-appropriate dance styles and techniques

Choreograph routines and performances as required

Prepare students for showcases, performances and College events

Create a positive, inclusive and encouraging learning environment

Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts and Academy staff to support program development

Maintain accurate attendance and program records as required

Uphold and model the Christian values and ethos of Citipointe Christian College
Regular Teaching Schedule:
-
Monday: 3.00pm – 5.00pm (Prep and Year 1)

Tuesday: 3.00pm – 5.00pm (Year 2 and Year 3)

Thursday: 3.00pm – 5.00pm (Years 4, 5 and 6)
Additional hours may be available for administration, choreography and future program growth.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will demonstrate:

A growing Christian faith and active involvement in a Christian church community
-
Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Dance, Performing Arts and/or Education
-
Strong practical dance teaching skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Confidence in teaching both small and larger groups of students

Knowledge and experience across a variety of dance styles
-
The ability to engage, motivate and nurture students of varying abilities

Ensemble directing or choreography experience (preferred)
-
A current Blue Card or Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration, or the ability to obtain one
