Apax Stone Projects is seeking experienced Wall & Floor Tilers to join our growing Cairns team.
We undertake residential and commercial tiling projects throughout Cairns and Far North Queensland, witha strong focus on swimming pools, outdoor tiling, paving, stone installation, pool surrounds and generalwall and floor tiling.
Due to continued growth and an increasing workload in the Cairns region, we are seeking qualified andexperienced tilers for permanent full-time positions.
Position: Wall & Floor Tiler
Location: Cairns, QLD
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Hours: 38 hours per week
Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation
Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine plans, specifications and work areas to determine job requirements
- Measure and mark surfaces for tile installation
- Prepare wall and floor surfaces prior to installation
- Apply adhesives and bedding materials
- Set out and install ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles
- Cut and shape tiles around corners, edges and penetrations
- Install floor and wall tiles accurately to required levels and falls
- Apply grout and complete finishing works
- Undertake swimming pool tiling and pool coping installation
- Install outdoor paving and stone finishes
- Complete pool surrounds and external tiled areas
- Carry out repairs and replacement of existing tiled surfaces
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements
- Work independently and as part of a project team
Requirements Applicants should have:
- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent relevant trade qualification
- Relevant wall and floor tiling experience
- Demonstrated ability to complete tiling work independently
- Experience in surface preparation, setting out, cutting, laying, grouting and finishing
- Construction White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Good understanding of construction safety requirements
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable work ethic
Experience in pool tiling, pool coping, outdoor tiling, paving and natural stone work will be highlyregarded.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Cairns, with projects throughout Cairns and surrounding FarNorth Queensland areas.
