Find your further with Ventia as an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager in our Defence Maintenance Contract. In this influential role, you will build trusted relationships with Defence personnel and operational teams across Australia, providing guidance, support and practical solutions to ensure equipment maintenance activities meet compliance, audit and contractual requirements.
You will act as key partner to Defence and maintenance teams, helping identify risks, remove barriers, mentor stakeholders and adjust delivery timelines where required to achieve safe, compliant and operationally effective outcomes. Your ability to balance compliance obligations with operational realities will be critical in supporting Defence capability and driving continuous improvement across the contract.
The role offers hybrid working conditions (working from home and sites across Australia with travel approximately one week a month), a high level of ownership, rewarding stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Defence environment.

About the Role
You will act as a trusted advisor, balancing operational needs with governance, quality and compliance requirements.

Lead and manage quality assurance and compliance activities across the contract supporting sites to meet Technical Authority requirements and capability uplift initiatives

Conduct audits, compliance review and assurance activities to identify risks and opportunities for improvement

Support teams to investigate compliance issues, determine root causes and implement practical solutions

Perform risk assessments and work collaboratively with stakeholders to adjust priorities and timelines to achieve compliant outcomes

Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance performance and operational capability

Manage export control and ITAR compliance risks

Maintain quality management systems, compliance records and reporting requirements

Deliver training on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement practices
Required Skills and Experience
You are a collaborative and solutions focused professional who excels at building relationships, influencing stakeholders and guiding teams through complex compliance requirements. You have experience working within Defence, maintenance, Logistics or another highly regulated environment and are confident partnering with operational teams to achieve successful outcomes.

Diploma / equivalent in Quality Management, Auditing or related

Experience building strong relationships across operational environments

Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and influence teams without direct authority

Strong understanding of compliance, governance and audit requirements

Experience conducting audits, assurance reviews and compliance reporting

Proven ability to assess risk, solve problems and implement practical solutions

Strong IT skills (S4 Hana, Microsoft suite)

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
