Job Summary
We're seeking a data-driven and analytically minded Supply Chain Analyst to join our operations team at Next. In this role, you will turn complex data into actionable insights, helping us optimise inventory, forecasting, warehousing, and transport performance.
You will work cross-functionally with warehouse, client services, and leadership teams to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across our supply chain network.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, clean, and analyse supply chain data across inventory, order fulfilment, transport, and warehouse KPIs.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and performance reports for internal stakeholders using tools like Power BI, Excel, or Tableau.
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost savings and service improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis on operational issues and propose data-backed, actionable solutions.
- Monitor and report on service level agreements (SLAs) with clients and carriers, ensuring performance targets are met.
Demand and Inventory Planning
- Support demand forecasting and inventory optimisation initiatives.
- Monitor stock levels and provide recommendations to reduce excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory.
- Collaborate with procurement and client teams to align supply with demand and avoid stockouts.
- Assist in safety stock analysis and replenishment planning to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Track inventory accuracy and support cycle count reconciliation efforts.
Transport and Warehousing Support
- Analyse transport routes and carrier performance to optimise delivery times and reduce freight costs.
- Support warehouse productivity analysis (picking, packing, receiving, dispatch) to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve space utilisation and workflow design.
- Monitor freight spend and assist in carrier negotiations with data-driven insights.
Process and Continuous Improvement
- Map and analyse current supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies and waste.
- Support the implementation of new tools, systems, and workflows, including WMS enhancements.
- Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving for operational issues.
- Participate in lean and continuous improvement projects (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, PDCA).
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for new or improved processes.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with warehouse, transport, and customer operations teams to align on goals and priorities.
- Provide analytical support for project rollouts, system migrations, and new client integrations.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Act as a bridge between operations and IT for system enhancements and data integrity initiatives.
- Support change management initiatives by providing training, documentation, and data-driven guidance.
Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, operations analytics, or a similar data-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and curious mindset - you don't just report numbers, you seek to understand the "why" behind them.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with Genisys experience highly regarded.
- Background in logistics, 3PL, operations, or retail supply chain.
- Familiarity with lean methodologies or continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience with data visualisation best practices and dashboard design.
