Corangamite Shire Council is seeking an Assistant Team Leader - Construction & Patches to support the delivery of Council's civil infrastructure construction, road patching, road maintenance and patching inspection services across the municipality. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity for an experienced civil construction operator and crew leader who enjoys working in the field and leading by example.
This position plays an important role in coordinating the delivery of construction and maintenance programs, including the identification and completion of road patches, to ensure works are undertaken safely, efficiently, to a high standard and within agreed timeframes. Working closely with the Team Leader - Construction, you will assist in coordinating labour, plant and materials, provide day-to-day leadership and support to a staff and contractors, and play an active role in the completion of road construction, patching, maintenance and drainage works.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating small teams and providing work direction to achieve civil construction works/projects.
- Experience in civil construction and maintenance programs.
- Highly developed computer skills and record keeping/reporting.
- A qualification in Civil Construction or a related field is desirable.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence, Construction Induction Card (white card), Traffic Management Ticket and recent National Police Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
- Relevant Plant Competency Tickets will be highly regarded.
