Our experienced team supports clients with complex medical, social and aspirational needs, and we are growing rapidly. Our values, being and belonging, quality, integrity, innovation, empathy and diversity, sit at the heart of every decision we make.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Operations Lead to take ownership of the reliable, secure and efficient operation of technology across Maxlife Care. Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, this role is the primary point of technical accountability for the organisation, ensuring our systems, tools and infrastructure directly enable the delivery of high-quality care to our clients.

Based in Sydney, NSW, with occasional travel to our SIL houses and service locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer IT infrastructure across servers, networks, endpoints, cloud platforms and communication systems, ensuring reliability and uptime.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Level 1, 2 and 3 technical issues across all Maxlife Care sites, delivering timely and effective support.
- Onboard and offboard staff, deploying secure operating environments across desktops, laptops and mobile devices via Intune.
- Implement and maintain cyber security controls aligned to the ACSC Essential Eight, Privacy Act and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Manage access controls, MFA, conditional access and data governance across the organisation.
- Lead disaster recovery, backup and business continuity planning and testing.
- Identify and implement technology improvements validated against genuine operational need and measurable value.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, managed service providers and hardware suppliers, ensuring service agreements represent value for money.
- Coordinate IT onboarding and training for new and existing staff, including cybersecurity awareness and Microsoft 365 platform use.
- Provide clear, timely and jargon-free updates to the Executive and Leadership Team on system health, projects and risks.
About You:
You bring technical depth, sound judgement and a customer-first mindset. You treat operational and support office teams as internal customers and measure success by the value delivered to them. Specifically, you bring:
- Minimum three years' experience in IT systems administration or IT operations.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams.
- Experience managing endpoint security, backups and network connectivity in a multi-site environment.
- Practical knowledge of network infrastructure, VPNs, firewalls and cloud services.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and Australian compliance obligations (Privacy Act, ACSC frameworks, NDIS Practice Standards).
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell or equivalent).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- A Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Highly desirable:
- Experience in a health, disability, aged care or not-for-profit environment.
- Familiarity with NDIS operational systems (rostering, care management, HR platforms).
- Relevant industry certification (CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL Foundation).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Our Benefits
- A key role in a growing, doctor-led NDIS provider with a genuine social purpose.
- Meaningful ownership of IT operations, with a clear pathway for capability and role growth.
