Casual Position | Predominantly Morning Shifts | Early Starts from 6:00am
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on and organised Back of House / Cellarman to join our hospitality team.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep a busy pub operating smoothly. You will be responsible for supporting cellar operations, stock management, deliveries, venue presentation and general back-of-house duties.
Please note: shifts for this position are predominantly morning shifts, with some shifts commencing as early as 6:00am. Applicants must be able to reliably attend early-morning starts.
Previous cellar or hospitality experience is highly regarded; however, we are also willing to consider someone with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
About the Role
As a Back of House / Cellarman, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, checking and correctly storing venue deliveries
- Moving and rotating beverage stock using appropriate FIFO principles
- Maintaining organised cool rooms, storage rooms and cellar areas
- Changing beer kegs and assisting with beer system operations
- Monitoring keg, beverage and back-of-house stock levels
- Assisting with stocktakes and stock organisation
- Maintaining cellar cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards
- Breaking down cardboard, disposing of waste and maintaining designated waste areas
- Ensuring walkways, storage areas and emergency access points remain clear
- Reporting damaged stock, equipment faults, leaks or maintenance concerns to management
- Assisting bar and venue teams with stock replenishment as required
- Supporting the movement of stock between storage and operational areas
- Following all Workplace Health & Safety procedures, including safe manual handling
- Completing general back-of-house and operational duties as directed by venue management
What We’re Looking For
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Availability to work predominantly morning shifts, including starts from approximately 6:00am
- The ability to reliably travel to the venue for early-morning starts
- A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and follow instructions
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organisation
- Confidence working in cool rooms, cellar and storage environments
- The physical ability to safely perform manual handling duties, including moving beverage stock and kegs
- An understanding of safe lifting and manual handling practices
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a hospitality team
- Flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends depending on operational requirements
Previous experience working as a Cellarman, Storeperson, Back of House Attendant, Barback or within a pub, club, hotel or hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
Desirable Experience

- Beer keg changes

- Cool room and storeroom organisation
- Manual handling within a hospitality environment
Training can be provided to the right candidate.

Availability
This position is primarily suited to applicants who are available during the early morning and daytime period.
Typical shifts may commence from approximately 6:00am, particularly for deliveries, stock handling, cellar organisation and venue preparation.
Applicants should therefore have reliable transport or otherwise be able to consistently attend the venue for early starts.
Some weekend availability may also be required depending on operational needs.
