Full-Time Butcher
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per annum + Superannuation
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Butcher to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about quality meat preparation, customer service, and maintaining high food safety standards.
About the Role
As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and presenting a wide range of meat products while ensuring exceptional quality and compliance with food safety regulations. You will work as part of a professional team committed to delivering premium products and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, bone, slice and prepare beef, lamb, pork, poultry and other meats to customer and business requirements.
- Break down whole carcasses and primal cuts into retail and wholesale portions using specialised butchery equipment and techniques.
- Prepare value-added meat products including marinated items, sausages, mince and ready-to-cook products.
- Ensure meat products are correctly weighed, labelled, packaged and displayed for sale.
- Monitor product quality, freshness and stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain presentation standards.
- Advise customers on meat selection, preparation methods and suitable cooking techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work environment in accordance with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Operate, clean and maintain butchery equipment, tools and machinery safely.
- Receive, inspect and store meat deliveries while monitoring inventory levels and assisting with stock control.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production and customer service requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience as a butcher in a retail, wholesale or meat processing environment.
- Strong knife skills and experience preparing a variety of meat cuts.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe work practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
