What you'll be doing
As a Ward Clerk/Administrative Officer, you’ll manage essential clerical processes that support patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Your attention to detail and ability to prioritise will help ensure accurate records, efficient ward operations and a positive experience for patients and staff.

Manage patient records, admissions, discharges, transfers and related transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain patient data and documentation, complete daily statistical reporting and support accurate bed management.

Coordinate practical ward administration, including discharge transport, mail, stationery and the movement of medical records, charts and other documentation.

Provide a responsive administrative service to patients, visitors and the multidisciplinary clinical team, including support during periods of changing activity.

Contribute to a well-organised ward environment while supporting the orientation, training and development of new Ward Clerks.

Proven extensive clerical experience in an office support role.

Demonstrate extensive receptionist/customer service skills.

Demonstrated excellent clerical organisational and time management skills.

Demonstrated effective communication skills - verbal and written, with strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team situation.

Competent computer skills in a Windows based environment and a knowledge of databases.
