Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering services across Native Vegetation within the City of Port Phillip municipality. This role is responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and coordinate multiple operational teams to ensure efficient, safe and high-quality service delivery.
- Undertake maintenance of native vegetation areas, including indigenous garden beds, habitat areas, revegetation sites and other natural-area assets.
- Identify and control environmental and declared weeds using appropriate manual, mechanical and chemical control techniques.
- Undertake planting, infill planting, mulching, watering, formative pruning, staking, guards and establishment maintenance.
- Assist with revegetation, habitat enhancement and biodiversity improvement works
- Lead, mentor and develop Team Leaders and field staff through regular coaching, performance reviews and ongoing support.
- Carry out works in a manner that protects native flora, fauna, waterways, habitat values and environmentally sensitive areas.
- Follow site-specific environmental controls, vegetation management plans, specifications and relevant legislative requirements.
- Diploma of Conservation and Land Management or a related qualification.
- Demonstrated experience supervising multiple operational teams within open space maintenance or similar service-based contracts.
- Strong understanding of native vegetation management, playground maintenance, infrastructure maintenance and open space operations.
- Valid National Police Check, White Card and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Driver's Licence and ChemCert / ACUP.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
