About the Role:
The Parkville EMR Pathology Connect Principal Trainer is a full time, 80 hours per fortnight (including ADOs) Fixed Term Contract until 28/03/2027. This role is responsible for delivering the training program to pathology, nursing, and medical staff for the Laboratory Information System (LIS) solution. Principle Trainer will be part of the Epic EMR team with specific areas of responsibility assigned.
Principle Trainer will utilise their capabilities and experience to engage super users, trainers and end users for the trainign required for the LIS and be responsible for ensureing training is delivered within agreed scope, and ensuring end suers are supported during go live and hypercare.
Classification for this position will range from AO71 (Grade 7, Level 1) to AO75 (Grade 7, Level 5), base salary $114,436.40-$124,912.84 FTE per annum, plus superannuation, plus with the option to salary package.
What You’ll Achieve:
- Work with the Pathology Connect Implementation team Credentialed Trainers, Super Users, Lead Analysts, Application Analysts and laboratory services Advisors at each Parkville Health Service to determine the LIS training curriculum for each role and standardise where possible across each laboratory.
- Work with Pathology Connect Implementation team and Operations Directors team members and local health services to deliver a training program that is fit-for-purpose for each Health Service.
- Monitor progress, key milestones, and deliverables to deliver the project according to plan with strict adherence to deadlines and communication with Pathology Connect management and other teams.
- Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders, providing consultation and problem-solving on process design alternatives and decisions, to ensure mutually agreed upon outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with relevant pathology departments and clinical teams at each pathology and partner Health Service to ensure the system configuration aligns with Parkville EMR and PNW Program requirements and strategic direction.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Experience in LIS solutions and/or EMRs and/or learnign management systems highly regarded.
- Clinical experience in public hospitals within the Parkville Precinct is favourable.
- Experience working in a tertiary hospital environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build strong relationships.
- Operational knowledge of one (or more) pathology department/associated clinical settings.

About the Department:
Pathology Network West is an exciting transformation program spanning the four health services of the Parkville Precinct: The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This strategic program will amalgamate the pathology services within the Parkville Precinct forming a new public pathology entity that will provide world-class, research-led public pathology services. Other Requirements:
- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
