About The Role
The Corfield Tavern is looking for a reliable, hands-on Duty Manager to join our team and help lead the venue’s day-to-day operations.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys working with people, leading a team and creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
As Duty Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the venue during your shift, supporting staff, maintaining service standards and ensuring our guests have a great experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the venue during your shift
- Lead, support and motivate the front-of-house team
- Allocate staff duties and ensure smooth service throughout the shift
- Maintain high standards of customer service and venue presentation
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Ensure Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and liquor licensing requirements are followed
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and support when required
- Assist with staff training and onboarding
- Manage opening and closing procedures
- Assist with cash handling, reconciliation and end-of-shift procedures
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or operational issues to management
- Ensure food, beverage, cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies
- Work closely with the management team to maintain smooth venue operations
- Be hands-on during busy periods and assist the team wherever needed
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader in a pub, bar, restaurant or similar hospitality venue
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to remain calm and make good decisions under pressure
- A positive, reliable and hands-on approach
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
- Previous experience with opening/closing procedures and cash handling is highly regarded
- Approved Manager certification or the ability to obtain one is highly regarded
