World Fuel Government Solutions is seeking a Defence Supportability Engineer to support the sustainment of complex Defence systems throughout their lifecycle.
Working within our Defence Engineering team, you will contribute to Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities that ensure Defence equipment remains maintainable, supportable, and mission ready. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, Defence customers, suppliers, and project teams to develop sustainment solutions that support long term operational success.
This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with experience in Defence supportability, sustainment, Integrated Product Support (IPS), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), or lifecycle engineering who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working across the full product lifecycle.
-
Deliver Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities across Defence programs.
-
Support maintenance planning, sustainment strategies, and lifecycle support activities.
-
Contribute to Reliability, Maintainability, and Supportability (RM&S) assessments.
-
Assist with spares provisioning, Parts Provisioning Lists (PPLs), and support system development.
-
Develop maintenance concepts and sustainment solutions for Defence equipment.
-
Maintain accurate supportability data, engineering information, and technical records.
-
Contribute to technical publications, maintenance manuals, user guides, and support documentation.
-
Collaborate with Systems Engineers to ensure supportability requirements are incorporated throughout the product lifecycle.
-
Participate in engineering reviews, technical investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
-
Engage with Defence customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams to achieve program outcomes.
-
Experience in Defence Supportability Engineering, Integrated Product Support (IPS), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Sustainment Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
-
Experience supporting engineering or sustainment activities within a Defence environment.
-
Understanding of maintenance planning, lifecycle support, and sustainment concepts.
-
Experience working with mechanical systems or complex engineered products.
-
Exposure to IPS or ILS deliverables.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage technical data accurately.
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
-
Degree or background in Mechanical Engineering.
-
Experience supporting Defence acquisition and sustainment programs.
-
Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) experience.
-
Experience preparing technical publications, maintenance documentation, or user manuals.
-
Experience with spares provisioning and provisioning data.
-
Familiarity with Defence standards and contractual deliverables.
-
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Unlike larger Defence organisations where engineers often work within highly specialised disciplines, World Fuel offers exposure across the broader Defence capability lifecycle.
You will have the opportunity to:
-
Work across acquisition, sustainment, and supportability activities.
-
Develop expertise in Defence lifecycle engineering.
-
Partner directly with Defence customers, suppliers, and senior leaders.
-
Gain broad engineering exposure and accelerated professional growth.
-
Take ownership of meaningful engineering outcomes and customer solutions.
-
Join a collaborative team that values learning, innovation, and career development.
If you're passionate about Defence engineering, sustainment, and ensuring critical systems remain mission ready throughout their lifecycle, we'd love to hear from you.
