Junior Product Manager – (Chemical Engineer Graduate Level)
In this role you'll work across key chemical portfolios including Anhydrous Ammonia and Sulphuric Acid, supporting growth projects, pricing strategies, market analysis and commercial decision-making. You'll combine your technical engineering knowledge with hands-on commercial experience, developing the skills needed to build a successful career in product management and business leadership.
Working alongside experienced Product Managers and commercial leaders, you'll gain broad exposure to market dynamics, customer needs, portfolio strategy and business growth initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate who is eager to learn, contribute and accelerate their career.
We have two full-time permanent opportunities available at our Melbourne Head Office.
As part of the Junior Professional Initiative, you will undertake professional and technical development programs, be mentored by industry professionals and join the IXOM Professional Networking Group to develop your business skills and learning opportunities. Key Responsibilities
Learn and understand supply and demand dynamics across chemical markets.
Support pricing and margin optimisation activities across product portfolios.
Participate in pricing reviews and tender submissions
Develop and maintain market intelligence and industry insights.
Support the development of strategic market and portfolio growth plans.
Work closely with sales teams to identify and progress growth opportunities.
Contribute to commercial and business improvement projects.
Support product stewardship and portfolio management activities
Ensure supplier and product-related SH&E requirements are met in line with IXOM standards and policies
Who are we looking for?
We're seeking an ambitious and commercially minded graduate who is eager to learn, grow and make an impact.
You will ideally have:
A Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Science, completed within the last two years.
A finance major or minor (highly regarded).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
A genuine interest in product management, commercial strategy and business development.
Recent graduates and candidates with up to two years' experience are encouraged to apply.
