Archer & Alice Café is a small family-run café inside The Lights Community and Sports Centre in Lightsview. We’re looking for a reliable Café All Rounder to join our team.
We look after the centre’s regular visitors, local sporting clubs, school carnivals and other events, so the work can be quite varied. You’ll be helping with day-to-day café service as well as busy event days.
The role will include customer service, taking orders, making drinks, food preparation, basic cooking and kitchen work, keeping the café clean and stocked, catering prep and service, and helping out at sporting events and functions.
Barista training or experience is preferred, but we’re happy to train the right person. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a good attitude who is keen to learn, work hard and become part of a small team.
You’ll need to be:
- Friendly and good with customers
- Reliable, punctual and someone who turns up for their rostered shifts
- A clear communicator, especially when it comes to availability
- Happy to learn and help out wherever needed
- Able to work well during busy periods
- Available on weekends
- Available for some weekday shifts, particularly school events and carnivals
- Flexible, as shifts can change around bookings and events
This is a casual role under the Restaurant Industry Award, with around 3–15 hours per week. Hours will vary depending on events, school bookings, catering and the time of year.
The café closes over the Christmas and New Year break.
