We're building one of the most significant fulfilment operations in the country and are looking for an experienced Safety Manager to help shape it from day one.
Based at our new automated Omnichannel Fulfilment Centre (OFC) in Moorebank, this is a rare opportunity to establish the safety foundations, systems and culture for a highly automated, state-of-the art showcase greenfield operation that will be one of the largest of its kind.
Working closely with site leadership and the broader Safety team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring safety is embedded into every aspect of the site's launch and ongoing success.
This is a fixed term contract until June 2028.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the OFC Manager, you'll lead the implementation of the site's safety strategy and drive a culture where safety is owned by everyone.
Key responsibilities include:
- Embedding safety into site commissioning, operational readiness and day-to-day operations.
- Establishing and maintaining safety management systems, governance frameworks and reporting rhythms.
- Identifying and managing risk across a highly automated environment, including automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and material handling equipment.
- Driving compliance with NSW WHS legislation and Kmart Group safety standards.
- Leading incident investigations, injury management and corrective actions.
- Partnering with leaders to build capability, accountability and a proactive safety culture.
- Supporting emergency management planning and site readiness.
- Using data, insights and audits to drive continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health & Safety.
- Experience in safety roles within warehousing, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, FMCG or similar operational environments.
- Experience working within highly automated material movement and handling environments.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislative requirements, particularly within NSW.
- Experience with safety management systems, audits and risk management frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively across project, operational and support teams.
Experience supporting a greenfield operation, automation implementation or large-scale operational start-up will be highly regarded.
