About the opportunity
Support older people to remain safe, independent and confident in their own homes. In this community-based Occupational Therapist role, you will complete functional assessments, recommend practical interventions, support reablement goals and help clients continue living well at home.
This is a meaningful opportunity for an OT who enjoys autonomy, person-centred practice and seeing the direct impact of their work in the community. You will be supported by a values-led not-for-profit organisation, with salary packaging of up to $18,550 and travel reimbursement at 88 cents per kilometre. The first 5,000km is tax-free in line with current arrangements, which is equivalent to up to $4,400 tax-free in the first year.

What you will do
This is a varied community-based role where you will support older people to maintain independence, reduce risk and achieve meaningful goals in their day-to-day lives. Clients are allocated with consideration to geography, travel time and service needs.
- Complete complex functional assessments in clients' homes, considering mobility, cognition, daily routines, environmental risks and personal goals.
- Deliver falls prevention, hospital avoidance and reablement-focused interventions that support safe ageing at home.
- Recommend home modifications, assistive technology and equipment solutions to improve independence and reduce risk.
- Support clients living with dementia, changing health needs or end-of-life care needs through practical, person-centred OT input.
- Educate families, carers and support teams to embed strategies that improve safety, confidence and quality of life.
- Maintain clear documentation and work collaboratively with clients, carers and clinical teams to keep each person's goals and preferences central to their care.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor qualification in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Australian driver licence and access to a vehicle.
- Previous experience in aged care, community health, rehabilitation, disability or a similar setting is welcomed but not essential.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, carers and colleagues.
- Ability to complete health screenings, functional assessments and practical recommendations that support safe, independent living.
