Department: Urban Services and Facilities
Reports to: Concrete Crew Leader Dunedoo
Salary Range: $69,855 - $81,183 per annum + superannuation
Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating machinery and seeing the results of your work make a real difference in the community?
We're looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Urban Services & Facilities team. This is an opportunity to be part of a busy crew delivering the roads, drainage, footpaths and infrastructure that help keep our community moving. Every day brings something different—from road and drainage projects to supporting our trades teams, operating a variety of plant and, when required, providing respectful grave digging services for our community.
Working as part of a supportive team, you'll safely operate excavators and a range of attachments across civil construction and maintenance activities. You'll work alongside concreters, plumbers and other skilled trades, helping deliver projects to a high standard while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork. You'll also carry out daily servicing of plant, complete pre-start checks and be willing to lend a hand wherever needed, whether that's operating other machinery or assisting with labouring tasks.
We're looking for someone who is an experienced and capable excavator operator with a practical approach to problem solving and a genuine commitment to working safely. You'll hold a current NSW Class C Driver Licence and White Card, and have experience working in civil construction or road maintenance.
You'll be joining a close-knit, experienced crew that's known for working well together, supporting one another and stepping in to help other teams whenever needed. It's a positive, hardworking environment where everyone pitches in, shares knowledge and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. Additional plant tickets, an HR Licence, traffic control accreditation, First Aid or local government experience will be highly regarded.
At Council, the work you do matters. You'll help deliver essential infrastructure, maintain public spaces and provide services that support our community every day. In return, you'll join a workplace that values safety, teamwork, respect and continuous improvement, where your contribution is recognised and no two days are ever the same.
If you're looking for stable employment, meaningful work and the opportunity to build a long-term career while making a positive impact in your local community, we'd love to hear from you.
