Litchfield Outback Resort is located in Batchelor ‘The Gateway to Litchfield National Park’ on Rum Jungle Road, 1 hour from Darwin city. We provide not only fuel and general supplies, but also home cooked meals for lunch and dinner as well as fresh sandwiches, salads and freshly brewed coffee.
We are looking for a Chef, with a minimum of 2 years' experience, to join our friendly team. Reporting to our Head Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Head Chef with planning menus, daily specials, and meal offerings in line with business requirements
- Preparing and cooking a range of meals while ensuring consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
- Monitoring food quality, presentation, and service standards
- Assisting with supervising and coordinating kitchen staff, including Cooks and kitchen assistants
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Overseeing kitchen operations during service and ensuring efficient workflow
- Promptly reporting maintenance and safety issues
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner this is a busy role and requires someone who is reliable, works well under pressure ensuring high quality food is always being served to our customers. You must be able to work well in a team environment. You will also have the following:
- A relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Diploma or higher
- Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to manage kitchen operations in a high volume hospitality environment.
