We are looking for General Nursery Hands to support various departments. This could include working within our Propagation, Potting, Maintenance, Quality, Export, Despatch, Seedlings or Trademart Centre.

Benara Nurseries is one of Australia’s largest wholesale production nurseries, located on a 147-hectare site in Western Australia. Established in 1963, we are a family-owned and managed company, now with four generations actively involved in the nursery. Combined, the owners have over 300 years of experience in producing plants for the horticultural industry.
We supply premium-quality plants to landscapers, retailers, developers, and local government. Our success is built on strong values, dedicated people, and our commitment to excellence in plant production.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking Full-time Permanent Nursery Hands to join our team.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working in a physical role in all-weather conditions with some early starts or late nights, and don't mind getting your hands dirty. Duties may include propagation of cuttings, potting, picking stock, picking of large trees and bigger potted plants, quality control and preparation of plants for despatch. Basic computer skills may be required for some of the roles, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and learn new systems quickly.
Personal transport is essential as the site is not services by public transport.
Key Responsibilities
Duties may include (but are not limited to):

Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, raining).
- Be physically fit and to be able to lift trays above shoulder height and be on your feet or walking, bending throughout the day (plus doing repetitive tasks).
- Are able to follow health and safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to driver tractors, trailers and forklift – Training will be provided.
- Knowledgeable in plant identification, pest and diseases and plant nutrition would be an advantage.
- Prior experience is not necessary as full on the job training will be provided.
- Have access to a vehicle as there is no public transport to our site, you will be required to travel 5 days a week (mainly Monday to Friday) to Perth's Northern Suburbs (Carabooda).

Essential:

A strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical, outdoor work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
- A qualification in Horticulture is ideally required.
Desirable:

Previous experience in a nursery, horticulture, agriculture, or similar hands-on role.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).
- Interest in plants or the horticultural industry.
