Supermarket 2IC / Deli Manager

Oasis is looking for an experienced and motivated retail leader to join our Murrumbeena store.
This is a flexible management position that may suit an experienced Supermarket 2IC, Department Manager, Deli Manager or an ambitious retail professional ready to take the next step.
The exact responsibilities can be shaped around the successful candidate’s experience and strengths. The role may include overseeing our deli and fresh food departments, supporting the Store Manager with daily supermarket operations, or a combination of both.
About the role
You will help lead the day-to-day operation of the store, maintain high standards across your departments and support the wider team during busy trading periods.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the Store Manager with daily store operations
- Leading, training and motivating team members
- Overseeing the deli, fresh food or other supermarket departments
- Maintaining strong presentation, quality and customer service standards
- Managing stock levels, ordering, rotation and waste
- Monitoring department sales, margins and labour
- Ensuring food safety, cleaning and compliance procedures are followed
- Assisting with rostering, opening and closing procedures
- Helping create a positive, productive and accountable team culture
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has supermarket, deli, fresh food or food retail management experience
- Is confident leading a team and working in a fast-paced environment
- Has strong merchandising and operational standards
- Understands stock control, ordering, waste and department profitability
- Is hands-on and willing to work alongside the team
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills
- Is reliable, organised and able to take ownership
- Is available to work a flexible roster, including some weekends
Experience working in an independent supermarket, deli, gourmet grocer or fresh food business would be highly regarded.
