We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Electrician to join our team.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, connecting, commissioning, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment, wiring and control systems across residential and commercial environments.
The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical diagrams, and a commitment to performing all work safely and in accordance with relevant electrical standards and regulations. The successful candidate will also be required to diagnose electrical faults, undertake repairs and ensure electrical installations operate safely and efficiently.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Interpret and utilise technical drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, cable and connection schedules, and technical manuals to undertake electrical installation and maintenance work.
· Install, repair, maintain, modify and test electrical and electrotechnology systems and equipment.
· Install and maintain electrical wiring, switches, power outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, lighting fixtures and associated electrical components.
· Measure, mark out and plan electrical installation sequences in accordance with project requirements and technical specifications.
· Select, measure, cut, terminate and connect electrical wires and cables to circuit breakers, transformers and other electrical components.
· Connect electrical systems and equipment to power supplies and ensure appropriate electrical connections are established.
· Test electrical circuits and installations for continuity, resistance, insulation and compliance with relevant standards.
· Diagnose electrical faults and identify issues with wiring, electrical equipment and control systems.
· Conduct repairs, maintenance and modifications to existing electrical installations and equipment.
· Inspect completed electrical work to identify faults, defects or safety issues and undertake corrective works where required.
· Ensure all electrical installation, testing, maintenance and repair activities are carried out safely and in accordance with applicable electrical regulations and workplace procedures.
· Maintain appropriate records of electrical work, testing, repairs, maintenance and installations.
· Liaise with clients, contractors and other trades where required to coordinate electrical works and resolve technical issues.
· Maintain electrical tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
Qualifications and Skills
· AQF Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, including relevant on-the-job training; or
· AQF Certificate IV in a relevant electrical/electrotechnology qualification; or
· At least 1 year of relevant electrical experience.
· Relevant electrical licence or registration as required by applicable Australian legislation.
· Demonstrated knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, electrical equipment and control systems.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical drawings and equipment manuals.
· Ability to install, connect, test, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
· Sound knowledge of electrical safety requirements and relevant Australian electrical standards.
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
· Ability to use electrical testing and measuring equipment accurately.
· Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other trades and team members.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.
· Good communication and organisational skills.
