Site Foreman / Leading Hand – Shopfitting

Insitu Construction Group is looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Leading Hand to join our Melbourne team, working across retail and commercial fitout projects throughout Melbourne.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and capable of running day-to-day site activities, while working closely with our Project Manager and Sydney office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day activities on shopfitting sites
- Coordinate trades, subcontractors and installers
- Read and interpret construction and shop drawings
- Carry out hands-on installation and general shopfitting works when required
- Organise material deliveries, site access and site logistics
- Monitor workmanship, quality and project progress
- Ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with SWMS and site requirements
- Identify site issues early and communicate clearly with the Project Manager
- Take site photos and provide regular progress updates
- Assist with defects and project handover
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in shopfitting, commercial fitout or commercial construction
- Strong hands-on trade background, ideally in carpentry, joinery or shopfitting
- Experience leading a small site team and coordinating subcontractors
- Ability to read drawings and solve site issues independently
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for the site
- White Card
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Own tools preferred
Experience working on shopping centre and retail fitout projects will be highly regarded.
Our projects include retail stores, kiosks, hospitality and commercial fitouts across Melbourne.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, lead the site team and get things done, rather than someone focused only on site administration.
Pay: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour
