Paediatric Occupational Therapist – New Graduates & Early Career Welcome
Start your career where you'll be supported, mentored and genuinely set up to thrive.
Leichhardt & Lilyfield (Inner West Sydney) | Full-time or part-time | Competitive salary
About us
Therapies for Kids is one of Sydney's original transdisciplinary paediatric practices. Since 2008 we've helped children from birth to 18 thrive at home, at school and in their community. Our OTs work alongside physiotherapists and speech pathologists, all guided by our 6 F-words of child development — Fun, Family, Friends, Function, Fitness and Future — grounded in the ICF framework.
The role
You'll assess and support children with fine motor, sensory, self-care, regulation, play and school-readiness needs — mostly in our bright clinics, with occasional school or home visits, and around 5–6 clients a day once you're settled (with protected admin time). New grads are never thrown in the deep end: you'll have a structured induction, early shadowing and co-treating, and a caseload that grows at a pace that's right for you.
What you'll bring
- AHPRA registration, plus WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening Check, CPR and professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- A genuine passion for working with children and their families
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and a collaborative, team-first attitude
New graduates and OTs in their first couple of years are warmly encouraged to apply — enthusiasm and the right values matter more to us than years of experience.
What you'll get
- Competitive salary with annual reviews, performance-based increases and clear progression
- Study leave and professional development incentives
- Hands-on specialised training from our experienced team
- A dedicated senior-OT mentor, a weekly transdisciplinary mentor and team case reviews
- Weekly competency and supervision sessions led by our Director
- An iPad for everyone, plus a laptop too if you'd like one
- Employee Assistance Program — free, confidential counselling
- Bright, purpose-built clinics with therapy gyms — personalise your own therapy room
- A recognition and celebration culture, plus leadership programs and interest groups to grow beyond your clinical role
Everyone belongs at TFK. We're a proudly inclusive, neuro-affirming team and warmly welcome applicants of all abilities, backgrounds, identities and lived experiences, including neurodivergent clinicians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Just let us know if you need any adjustments.
