Cadence Connect is partnering with a
large, established organisation to appoint a Financial Accounting Manager on a
12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of maternity leave.
Operating within a sizeable and sophisticated finance function, this is an opportunity to join a complex corporate environment with established processes, multiple stakeholders and a broad financial accounting remit.
With a
late-September to early October commencement targeted to ensure sufficient handover, we are looking to progress conversations and client introductions quickly.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the financial accounting function and lead an established team, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of statutory, group and month-end reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and development of the financial accounting team
- Statutory financial statement preparation and group reporting
- Balance sheet ownership and reconciliation oversight
- Management and coordination of the annual audit process
- Month-end close, journals and Head Office reporting
- Oversight of intercompany and treasury accounting
- Technical accounting and interpretation of accounting standards
- Maintaining strong financial controls and governance
- Driving continuous improvement across financial accounting processes
The role has
three direct reports and works closely with finance, treasury, management accounting, operational leadership, auditors and Head Office stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an
experienced finance leader who is comfortable taking ownership of a financial accounting function and can quickly establish credibility with both their team and senior stakeholders.
Importantly, you will have previous experience operating in a
large, complex corporate environment, with the technical depth and leadership capability to step into the position and make an immediate contribution.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Previous experience in a Financial Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar leadership position
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a finance team
- Strong technical financial accounting capability
- Experience within a large, complex and ideally multi-entity organisation
- Strong statutory and group reporting experience
- Solid knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards / IFRS
- Experience managing external audit and month-end processes
- Strong balance sheet, controls and governance capability
- CA or CPA qualification
- The ability to engage effectively with senior and cross-functional stakeholders
- SAP and/or Hyperion experience would be highly regarded
What's On Offer
- $140k–$165k package, depending on experience
