Male Support Worker – Airlie Beach / Jubilee Pocket, QLD
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate and experienced Male Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a participant in the Airlie Beach / Jubilee Pocket area.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting a participant with community access, transport and building independence.
About the Role
The successful applicant will provide individualised, person-centred support in the community. Duties will include supporting the participant to attend planned activities, access the community safely and provide reliable transport as required.
Support will initially be provided in accordance with an 8-week support arrangement.
Available Shifts
Wednesday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Thursday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Ongoing for 8 weeks
There may be opportunities for additional shifts in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one, person-centred support.
- Support the participant to access the community and participate in planned activities.
- Provide safe and reliable transport, including pick-up and drop-off as required.
- Promote independence, choice and control.
- Follow the participant’s individual support plan and relevant guidelines.
- Maintain professional boundaries and provide respectful support.
- Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and the broader support team.
- Complete accurate progress notes and documentation.
- Follow organisational policies, procedures and NDIS requirements
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, Mental Health Support Worker or in a similar role.
- Experience supporting participants with complex needs and/or mental health support needs is highly desirable.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
- Access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle.
- Ability to provide transport as part of the role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional and able to follow support plans and instructions.
Mandatory Training Requirement
Successful applicants must complete the Forensic Order and Leave Conditions Training provided by the relevant clinical team before commencing their first rostered shift.
Applicants must be willing to follow all training requirements, support guidelines and relevant conditions associated with the role.
