Attractive salary of $190,000-$195,000 + Super.
Joining GEO Healthcare, the Director, Safety and Quality is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will play an integral role in GEO Healthcare’s delivery of Primary Healthcare Services to public prisons in Victoria.
Based at GEO Healthcare’s Head Office, located in Melbourne’s CBD, you will be responsible for performance monitoring and continuous quality improvement of healthcare services provided by GEO Healthcare to ensure the services are safe, quality and are compliant with legislative, contractual and accreditation requirements. You are the keystone for performance monitoring, reporting, evaluating and improving the organisation's outcomes against the State's Key Performance Measures (KPMs) and other metrics and the role is responsible for the coordination, compilation and provision of performance reports to the State in accordance with the service specifications and contractual requirements.
You will report to the General Manager and will lead and implement corporate and clinical governance systems and processes and coordinating service-wide accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
While being supported by the General Manager and the Senior Leadership Team, you will build a positive and productive workplace culture and carry out all duties in accordance with the GEO Healthcare Values – Understanding, Respect, Accountability, Teamwork, Excellence. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement to ensure relationships are established and maintained with relevant staff and internal and external stakeholders to support the provision of high-quality services and professional practice.
You will also be required to, at times, attend any of the 14 GEO Healthcare locations and The GEO Group Head Office in Sydney, NSW.
Actively contribute to a service that will achieve positive healthcare outcomes for people in prison which is a key element in reducing recidivism across the prison system.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Post-graduate qualifications and/or experience in clinical governance, quality improvement and/or health service accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience with leading compliance with legislative and contractual obligations.
- Experience in implementing corporate and clinical governance systems in complex health services/environments.
- Significant experience in coordinating service-wide accreditation to the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards or other health service-related standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills that build positive relationships with staff, the client and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capacity to foster evidence-based practice, service evaluation and continuous quality improvements.
- Extensive experience in coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of corporate and clinical policy and procedures.
- Extensive experience in incident, complaint and risk management.
Other Requirements of the role:
- Ability to work within a correctional setting.
- Valid and current full Australian driver’s licence.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Working outside of ordinary hours may be required.
