Mackillop House, a Residential Aged Care home, is seeking a reliable and caring Catering Assistant to join our friendly hospitality team. In this hands on role, you’ll support daily food services and help create a positive dining experience for our residents.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with meal preparation, plating, and service
- Maintaining kitchen, servery, and dining area cleanliness
- Following food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
- Supporting residents with warm, respectful meal service
- Working collaboratively with chefs and care teams
To be successful in this role you’ll need
- A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
- Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
- Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
- NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
