About the role
The Learning & Teaching directorate at Eastern Health are seeking a motivated and experienced registered nurse (RN) to join the Specialist & Advanced Practice team for an exciting opportunity in the Neurology Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role.
The role is based at Box Hill Hospital, which is recognised for its exceptional stroke care, having been awarded Platinum status by the World Stroke Organisation (WSO) three years in a row.
Ward 7.1 is Box Hill Hospital’s Neurology, Stroke and Gastroenterology unit, providing complex, compassionate and comprehensive care to patients with a wide variety of neurological and gastroenterological conditions. The CNE role on Ward 7.1 is pivotal in providing leadership related to clinical change and development, education program delivery, and education and support of staff and learners, including Pre-Registration, Graduate, Transition to Specialty Practice (TSP) and Postgraduate nursing students.

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Current condition free Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration with AHPRA
Relevant postgraduate qualification in neurology or critical care nursing (essential)
A minimum of three years of relevant clinical nursing experience with recent experience at a senior level (CNS or above)
Experience and expertise in mentoring and supervising learners and novice clinicians
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with advanced skills in critical thinking, problem solving, organisation and prioritisation
Excellent verbal and written communication, with highly developed interpersonal skills
Proficient IT skills and computer literacy
A strong commitment to high-quality patient care and positive learner experiences
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
