What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacist – Dispensary, you will provide comprehensive pharmacy services that support the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines across Westmead Hospital. You will apply your clinical knowledge and professional expertise to optimise medication outcomes for patients.
- Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services, including medication assessment and pharmaceutical care.
- Support safe and accurate medication distribution and oversee pharmacy dispensing activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote evidence-based medication management and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Provide expert medication information and advice to patients and clinical staff.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, students and other pharmacy staff while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy. Must satisfy Grade 2 classification as per Health Employees Pharmacists (State) Award.
- Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
2. Demonstrated extensive experience in clinical hospital pharmacy with satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia (or equivalent)
3. Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical practice
4. Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change
6. Excellent time management with attention to detail
