What you will be doing:
Work collaboratively with the local Area Manager/Manager to lead and deliver holistic, place-based and trauma-informed occupational therapy services.
Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, expertise and advice for customers requiring home modifications, transfers, tenancy management or housing assistance.
Work closely with allied health or other service partners to flexibly deliver services to customers on-line, by telephone or in person with a focus on safety, service excellence and quality outcomes.
Contribute to the design and review of new accessible social housing properties.
Provide a consultative service to Department staff and other agencies about the housing needs of customers who have a disability, long-term health condition or who are ageing.
Provide leadership by modelling and fostering professionalism, accountability and ethical behaviour.
Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning workplace health and safety are applied and a part of day to-day operations.
Prepare and maintain high quality reports and customer records consistent with departmental and professional requirements.
Contribute to professional development, research, team planning and decision making and the continuous improvement of policies and practices.
Have the opportunity to supervise students and mentor new staff.
Mandatory Requirement
Class C Driver's Licence
Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution and be registered or eligible for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Flexibility to travel in Queensland is desirable.
