Head Barista – Westbrook Food Store
Kew East, Melbourne
Westbrook Food Store is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead our coffee offering and help drive a consistently high standard of service across our busy neighbourhood café.
We’re looking for someone who takes genuine pride in great coffee, enjoys working with people and is confident leading by example during busy service.
The Role
As Head Barista, you will take ownership of the day-to-day coffee operation, including:
- Producing consistently excellent coffee at speed
- Leading and supporting the barista team during service
- Training staff and maintaining coffee standards
- Dialling in grinders and maintaining quality throughout the day
- Managing coffee workflow during busy periods
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the coffee station
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
- Building strong relationships with our regular customers
- Working closely with management to continually improve service and efficiency
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong specialty or high-volume café barista experience
- Is confident working independently on the machine
- Has excellent milk texturing and coffee-making skills
- Can stay calm, organised and positive during busy periods
- Has leadership experience or is ready to step into a senior role
- Takes pride in cleanliness, presentation and consistency
- Is reliable, punctual and takes ownership of their role
- Has a friendly, professional and genuinely customer-focused attitude
