Care2Inspire is seeking an experienced and compassionate High-Intensity Female Support Worker (As per Client's request) with a nursing background to provide high-quality support to a participant with complex care needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, or experienced disability support professional with strong clinical experience who is confident supporting individuals with epilepsy and seizure conditions.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide person-centred support while ensuring the participant's safety, dignity, independence and wellbeing. The role involves working closely with the participant and their support team and responding appropriately to seizure activity and other high-intensity support needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-intensity, person-centred support in line with the participant's care and support plans.
- Support a participant living with epilepsy and seizures.
- Recognise seizure activity and respond promptly and appropriately in accordance with the participant's seizure management plan.
- Monitor and report changes in the participant's health and wellbeing.
- Follow medication and emergency management procedures as required and within the worker's scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, incident reports and relevant documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, manual handling and other relevant health and safety procedures.
- Support daily living, personal care and community participation as required.
- Work collaboratively with the participant, family, nurses, support coordinators and other health professionals.
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and respect for the participant's rights and choices.
Essential Requirements
- Nursing background – Registered Nurse (RN), Enrolled Nurse (EN), or equivalent relevant clinical experience.
- Previous experience supporting people with epilepsy, seizures or other complex/high-intensity support needs.
- Strong understanding of seizure management and emergency response procedures.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check, where applicable.
- Relevant disability or health-related qualifications.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and confident during emergency or high-risk situations.
- Current Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence, if required for the role.
Desirable
- Experience working in disability, community nursing or complex care environments.
- Experience with medication administration and health monitoring.
- Training in epilepsy/seizure management.
- Experience working under NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors.
