About the Role
Account Manager – Yacht Coatings | Sydney
Do you light up around boats, marinas and are you a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys meeting customers, developing new opportunities, and building a successful territory.
You don’t need to be a paint expert on day one, you need confidence, curiosity, and the drive to win.
We are looking for an Account Manager to represent our premium Awlgrip®, International® and Sea Hawk® yacht-coatings brands. The role is based in Sydney and includes responsibility for customers across Sydney, Northern New South Wales and Fiji.
This is a field-based role working with a diverse range of customers, including distributors, retailers, boatbuilders, repair and maintenance yards, applicators, yacht owners, and businesses operating across the superyacht and recreational boating markets.
We’re looking for someone with strong relationship-building skills, commercial curiosity, and a willingness to learn. We will provide the product training and support you need to succeed.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing existing customers, developing new business and identifying opportunities to grow our brands throughout Sydney, Northern New South Wales and Fiji.
Your time will be spent visiting customers, understanding their businesses, providing product support and working with them to identify new sales opportunities.
You’ll have the freedom to manage your territory while being supported by experienced technical, marketing, and customer service teams.
Why you will love this job
A water-life job that’s actually social
You’ll be out in the field meeting boatyards, applicators, resellers, and yacht owners- not stuck behind a desk.
Your day is built around conversations , trust and being seen in the market.
You’ll be part of the boating lifestyle -marinas, events, launches, and boat shows.
What you'll Do
Build trusted, long-term relationships with existing customers.
Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities.
Work with distributors and retailers to increase sales and strengthen brand visibility.
Support boatbuilders, repair yards and applicators with product information and practical solutions.
Coordinate product demonstrations, customer training and new product launches.
Develop opportunities to expand our Awlmix colour-mixing network.
Monitor territory performance and deliver agreed sales, margin and market-share targets.
Represent our brands at customer events, boat shows and industry activities.
Provide feedback on customer needs, competitors and emerging market opportunities.
Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within our CRM system.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a positive experience for customers.
About You
You are a proactive and approachable sales professional who enjoys building relationships and helping customers find the right solution. You are comfortable working independently while also valuing the support and experience of a wider team.
You will ideally bring:
Experience in account management, business development, sales or another customer-focused commercial role.
Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
The confidence to meet new customers and develop business opportunities.
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of sales performance.
Strong planning, organisation and follow-up skills.
A collaborative, dependable and solutions-focused approach.
An interest in learning about yacht coatings and their applications.
A willingness to travel within the territory, including Northern New South Wales and Fiji.
Experience in coatings, boating, building products, industrial products, retail distribution or a related market would be valuable, but it is not essential. Transferable experience and the right attitude are equally important.
What We Offer
As part of a global organisation, you’ll have access to benefits and opportunities beyond a standard sales role, including:
Career development, product training and opportunities to grow within the business.
An annual performance bonus in addition to your base salary.
A fully maintained company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone.
Financial support for health and wellbeing activities.
Discounted private health insurance through Bupa.
Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program support for you and your family.
The autonomy of a field-based role, supported by an experienced and collaborative team.
