Bartender – CANAI Malaysian Fusion Restaurant
About the Role
CANAI is a Malaysian fusion restaurant looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team. The role involves delivering high-quality drinks and customer service while maintaining a clean, organised and efficient bar in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to a high standard.
- Follow all Victorian RSA requirements and responsible service practices.
- Verify IDs and ensure alcohol is served responsibly and in accordance with legislation.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and well-organised bar throughout service.
- Complete bar setup and pack-down, including restocking and cleaning.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate low-stock items to management.
- Follow correct stock rotation procedures (FIFO) and minimise wastage.
- Prepare and maintain garnishes, glassware, mixers and other bar supplies.
- Ensure drinks are presented consistently and according to restaurant standards.
- Work closely with the floor and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude during busy periods.
- Assist with general bar organisation and closing duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a valid Victorian RSA certificate.
- Is a quick learner and willing to develop their knowledge of the menu and drinks.
- Can work confidently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Has strong attention to cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work.
- Has good communication and teamwork skills.
- Is comfortable working late evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
- Can multitask while maintaining attention to drink quality and customer service.
- Has a positive, professional and team-oriented attitude.
Experience & Knowledge
Previous bartending experience is preferred, but we are also open to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work efficiently.
Knowledge of Malaysian or local-style drinks is not required upon commencement. However, successful applicants will be expected to learn and become familiar with CANAI's beverage menu, Malaysian-inspired drinks, ingredients and preparation methods as part of their training.
