Entry-Level Café Team Member – School Leaver / Junior Role/Junior rates apply
Mountain View Café is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic entry-level team member to join our front-of-house team.
This position is best suited to someone at the beginning of their working life, such as a recent school leaver, home-school student, or someone looking for their first regular hospitality job.
This is an entry-level position and is not intended for experienced hospitality professionals seeking senior, supervisory or management-level work.
Previous café experience is not required — we are happy to train the right person.
Availability
We are looking for someone with good ongoing availability, including:
- Weekday shifts
- Regular WEEKEND shifts
- Availability throughout the upcoming September school holidays
- Ideally available for the majority of the Christmas school holiday period
Applicants who are home-schooled, have recently finished school, or otherwise have good weekday availability are particularly encouraged to apply.
Location is important
We are specifically looking for someone who lives locally and can reliably travel to and from Mountain View Café in Maleny for rostered shifts.
Please consider the travel distance before applying. We are looking for someone who can realistically make this an ongoing job, rather than travelling a significant distance for casual shifts.

About the role
This is a hands-on café role and may include:
- Running food and drinks to tables
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Assisting customers
- Preparing cakes and cold drinks
- General cleaning and presentation
- Supporting the front-of-house team during busy service
- Learning other café duties as your skills develop
What we're looking for
You don't need lots of experience. We are much more interested in finding someone who:
- Is reliable and turns up when rostered
- Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn
- Is friendly and comfortable speaking with customers
- Can listen to instructions and take feedback
- Is happy working at a good pace
- Is willing to help with cleaning and general café duties
- Wants a regular ongoing job rather than just occasional shifts
