Are you an experienced Early Childhood Teacher with full VIT registration looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful difference?
NERPSA is seeking a capable, confident, and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join one of our kindergarten teams in Wangaratta.
This position requires a teacher who can successfully lead a funded kindergarten program, provide clear professional direction within a teaching team and respond effectively to children and families with diverse backgrounds, circumstances and support needs.
The position may be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful applicant’s availability and the operational needs of the service.

Key Selection Criteria
Applicants must address each of the following selection criteria in their cover letter.
1. Kindergarten teaching and program leadership
Substantial demonstrated experience leading and delivering a high-quality funded kindergarten program, including programming, assessment, documentation, evaluation and critical reflection.
2. Curriculum and professional knowledge
Strong knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the National Quality Framework and contemporary play-based and intentional teaching practice.
3. Inclusive practice and diverse learning needs
Demonstrated experience planning for and supporting children with diverse abilities, developmental profiles, communication styles, behaviours and individual support needs. This includes the ability to adapt environments, routines, expectations and teaching strategies to support children’s safety, wellbeing, learning, and meaningful participation.
4. Partnerships with families and communities
Demonstrated ability to build respectful and effective partnerships with families from diverse cultural, linguistic, social and family backgrounds, including families experiencing complex circumstances.
5. Collaboration with professionals and support services
Demonstrated ability to work appropriately and collaboratively with allied health professionals, inclusion services, The Orange Door, family services, schools and other relevant professionals and agencies to support children and families.
6. Team leadership and professional relationships
Demonstrated ability to provide clear professional direction, guide educators and contribute to an accountable, respectful, and collaborative teaching team.
7. Communication and professional judgement
Strong communication, relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills, together with a calm, reliable, reflective and solutions-focused approach.
8. Child safety and professional practice
Demonstrated commitment to child safety, children’s rights, active supervision, inclusive practice, and the professional responsibilities of an Early Childhood Teacher.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
The successful applicant must hold:
- An ACECQA approved early childhood teaching qualification
- Current full early childhood teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Current approved first aid qualification
- Current approved CPR training
- Current approved asthma management training
- Current approved anaphylaxis management training
- EC PROTECT — Protecting Children: Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations
- National Foundation Child Safety Training
- National Advanced Child Safety Training
- Evidence of Australian working rights
Where an otherwise suitable applicant has not yet completed a required check or training item, they must be willing and able to obtain it before commencing.
