We are a business based in Penrith, NSW, providing custom kitchen solutions for residential and commercial clients. The business specialises in kitchen design and the installation of cabinetry and associated fittings, working closely with builders, renovators and direct clients across Sydney to deliver complete kitchen projects from planning through to on-site installation.
About the Position
DIY Kitchen Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Carpenter, to join its team on a full-time basis. The role is primarily focused on on-site installation and construction of kitchen cabinetry and associated timber structures, including measuring, fitting, assembling and installing components in accordance with project specifications. The position requires a hands-on tradesperson with strong carpentry skills and experience working across similar projects.
2. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Study and interpret drawings, specifications and plans to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
· Order, select and prepare timber, materials and layouts in accordance with project specifications.
· Measure, mark and cut materials, and assemble and nail cut and shaped components using appropriate tools and equipment.
· Construct, set out and erect wall and ceiling frames, roof framing, sub-flooring and structural components, ensuring accuracy and structural integrity.
· Install kitchen cabinetry, benchtops, panels, doors and associated fittings at residential and commercial sites.
· Construct and install timber structures including frameworks, flooring systems, partitions and supports required for kitchen and cabinetry installation.
· Fit and install doors, windows and associated fixtures including hinges, handles and locks where required.
· Ensure accurate levelling, alignment and secure fixing of cabinetry and structural components to walls, floors and existing frameworks.
· Modify and adjust timber and cabinetry components on-site to ensure proper fit and finish in accordance with site conditions.
· Assemble prepared wood and materials to form structures and fittings ready for installation.
· Cut and form joints in timber and other materials to ensure structural strength and proper assembly.
· Repair, maintain and replace damaged or defective timber structures, cabinetry and fittings.
· Carry out general carpentry work including installation of wall cladding, fascia panels, roof sheathing and structural supports where required.
· May construct and install formwork for concrete structures where required.
· May work with a range of materials including timber, plastic laminates, composite boards and light metals.
· Liaise with clients, builders and other trades to ensure installation requirements and project specifications are met.
· Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety standards and project specifications.
· Work collaboratively with team members to meet project timelines and installation schedules.
3. Essential Requirements
· Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent)
· Minimum 1 years full-time relevant work experience
· Experience as per above duties
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
· Strong attention to detail and workmanship
· Ability to work independently and in a team
