Job Opportunity
The Berry Patch Preschool and Long Day Care Centre in Greystanes/Pemulwuy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Trainee to join our enthusiastic team! A traineeship offers a fantastic pathway to begin a career in Early Childhood Education, especially suited for school leavers and is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is committed to providing high-quality education and care while fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for young children.
Position Description
This is a full-time traineeship where you will gain invaluable experience while completing your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. You will work collaboratively with educators, families, and management to create a positive and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported.
The position is 18 months long, with the possibility of a permanent position to join our wonderful team for the right candidates.
Essential Requirements:
- Availability Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (with flexibility for 4 x 10 hr days and a rostered day off).
- If over 18, a current and valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
- A current and valid National Police check (that has been processed within the last 3 months).
- Reliability and punctuality
- Please note: this role is not suitable for applicants who already hold Early Childhood qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
While completing your traineeship, you will:
- Work alongside a supportive and uplifting team committed to child safety.
- Learn to support children in achieving developmentally appropriate milestones.
- Develop foundational skills in early childhood education.
- Gain knowledge and guidance from experienced and knowledgeable educators.
- Assist in preparing daily learning experiences and environments.
- Build understanding of documentation and child-focused reporting practices.
- Develop a strong commitment to providing and upholding a safe environment for children, including an understanding of child protection law, mandatory reporter obligations and processes to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Be willing to learn and contribute as part of a team.
- Form strong communication skills.
